Introduction:

Hara pattanaik born on 12 October 1958 is a veteran oriya film actor, director and screenplay writer. In his career he has introduced many new actors in his movies and made them front line actors, including Sabyasachi Mishra, Babushan Mohanty and Anubhav Mohanty. He acted with many renowned actors like Sidhant Mohapatra and MIhir Das and also directed them in many super hit odia movies.

He was born the city of Cuttack, Odisha, India and lived there till death. He is the son of Mr Bipin Bihari Pattanaik and Mrs Annada Pattanaik and husband of Jharana Pattanaik. He has two daughters named Arjya and Ananya Pattnaik. His younger brother Debu Pattnaik and brother in law Chandi Parija are also famous Ollywood film directors.

Education:

Hara Pattanaik completed Graduation from Christ College and studied theatre from Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalay.

Life and Career:

Hara Pattanaik’s acting journey started with “Sahari Bagha” an odia movie in 1985 in a major negative character. Then he became the ultimate villain in 90’s Odia films. Gradually he was extremely popular as the anti-hero among the cine viewers.

Hara Pattanaik has introduced many new actors and made them front line stars in Odia film Industry. He debuts Anubhav Mohanty in the Odia Movie I Love You (2004), Babushan Mohanty in “Romeo The Lover Boy” (2009) and Sabyasachi Mishra in Pagal Premi (2007). In the recent time all three are Ollywood leading superstars.

Hara Pattanaik is always famous in the odia film industry because of his uniqueness in costumes and dialogues like “Nai Nai Nai Ma”, “Maa Raan”, “Full Bobal” “Chakma Churr” and “Kat Kat Katra” etc. He has given many hit films and as a director he is extremely successful.

Death:

Film director and actor Hara Pattanaik died in 13th Jan 2015 in a Bhubaneswar hospital, he had been fighting with blood cancer for the past 7 years. The last rites of him performed at Satichaura, Cuttack on 14 Jan. Every big and small name from the filmdom turned up to pay their last respect.
