7th Pay Commission Allowances Was Approved By The State Cabinet

7th Pay Commission allowances for the State Government employees was approved formally by the state cabinet, which was announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday. A total of eight proposals were approved by the Cabinet. 7th Pay Commission scales will come into effect with September’s salary.

A meeting of the State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the recommendations regarding salary hike following which the revised salary structure for various groups of employees will be in 17 different levels starting from level 1 with minimum pay of Rs 16,600.

The Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi said that the Pay and pension are to be fixed in the revised structure by multiplying a factor of 2.57.

He further informed that the prevailing career advancement scheme, Revised Assured Career Progression (RACP) scheme, was substituted by Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) scheme in line with the Central Government rules.

“Arrears will be released in due course and it amounts to Rs 7500 crore,” informed Padhi in response to queries from reporters on payment of arrears to State government employees vis-à-vis implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations. He said by and large contractual employees will be getting a hike of around 25% on their existing salaries while adding that they will get 10% increment every year.
The Cabinet also approved the recently concluded revised agreement between the State government and the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) with regard to Paradip refinery.
