Actress Bhumi Pednekar, is keeping high hopes for the release of her forthcoming film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, says she hopes she keeps doing content driven movies, which are a bit of commercial success as well.
This will be the first time Bhumi will be seen sharing screen space with National Award winner Akshay Kumar.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, directed by Shree Narayan Singh, deals with the need of sanitization in India and is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign.
The two main character, Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) and Keshav (Akshay Kumar), get married but the bride soon leaves as her in-laws do not have a toilet in their house. The husband then takes it on himself to ensure that his entire village gets toilets.
The film is scheduled to release on August 11.
Bhumi ventured into Bollywood with Yash Raj Films’ Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015, featured in director Zoya Akhtar’s short film and now in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Savdhan. Actress Bhumi Pednekar says she is proud of the choices she has made in her career.
