Uttam Mohanty completed his early life at Baripada as his grandfather was settled over there. He has completed his schooling in M.K.C High School & college education from M.P.C. College, Baripada for intermediate in science.
After completing his graduation in commerce he went to Ludhiana for higher study in chartered accountancy. From the very early age he was interested to do act as a leading character in various drama and plays. He is the most talented actor of Ollywood industry.
Uttam Mohanty is a great actor for both Odis TV Serial & Film industry. He has entered into the Film industry with the Odia cinema “ABHIMAN” directed by Sadhu Meher in 1977.
At his time he collected a huge fan base through his acting quality. He is a multi talented actor with variety roles like Romantic, Village Lad, and Character. And many more movies are there in which his tremendous performaces are heart touching.
The eighties was the best time of his Film career. Uttam Mohanty is the only star in the Oriya cinema industry, was in the top list among all the heroes of that time.
He was the most eligible actor for his rural area fans . He has given many Odiya Films, 30 Bengali films and one of his acting Hindi movies “Naya Zahar” in 1991.
