Female bear named “Mili” died in Odisha’s Nandankanan Zoological Park today while undergoing treatment. Again another animal died in the Zoo.
The 16-year-old animal was born to Savitri in 2001, was kept under medical supervision since long for suspected tuberculosis (TB).
Mili was administered parental antibiotic, oral multivitamins and liver tonic, zoo sources said.
Experts from College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry will conduct post-mortem to find more information about the death.
At present, With the death of the animal, the total number of bears in the zoo has reduced to 16. There are 5 female and 11 male bears.
