Odia film “Khyanika – The Lost Idea“,will be screened at Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival 2017 at Mississauga, Ontario in Canada, on 5th August.
This will be the second international festival screening of the film. Previously, the film had an excellent response at its world premiere at Hidden Gems Film Festival in Calgary.
Now Odia filmmakers are getting acclaimed for their work on a number of national and international platforms.
The film is a tale of two men – a poet and a painter – claiming possession over the same idea (portrayed as a woman), in a rural village portrayed as a wonderland.
Idea is personified as a beautiful young lady, free of all bondage.The two men try to justify their claim over their Idea through their forms of art.
Unable to settle the conflict, both the men approach “fate”, personified as a big fat man of authority, to judge their claims.
The film produced by Swastik Choudhury under the independent banner of Swastik Arthouse and directed by Amartya Bhattacharyya features Amrita Chowdhury as Idea, Susant Misra and Swastik Choudhury as the aspiring painters and poets.
Hrushikesh Bhoi (plays the role of Kansha at the dhanu yatra of Bargarh) portrayed the character the fate. Choudhury Bikash Das plays a mad man, while Anu Choudhury appears as a guest performer.
“Khyanika – The Lost Idea” has been shot in some locations in and around of Bhubaneswar and Puri.
