Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the officials to strictly follow the zero tolerance policy against corruption.
Mr Patnaik asked the officials to specially focus on the implementation of rural housing schemes, Niramaya scheme, Jananai Surakhya Yojana and ICDS programme.
“On this occasion, I expect the officers of Vigilance department to work dedicatedly to carry forward Government’s policy of zero tolerance towards corruption,” said Patnaik.
CM Patnaik said this at the concluding ceremony of the State Vigilance’s diamond jubilee held here on Friday.
A short-film on State Vigilance, Commemorative Medal, Formation Sign, Revamped and dynamic website of Odisha Vigilance was also released on the occasion.
Vigilance DG RP Sharma claimed that the department has taken adequate measures to create awareness and involve public in the ongoing fight against corruption.
On the occasion, fiver former Directors and families of 10 former Directors were felicitated. Among others, Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera and Chief Secretary AP Padhi graced as guests.
Sources said that the vigilance department has received 560 complaints so far in rural housing sector, 197 complaints have been verified and complaints have been registered in 38 cases. After the vigilance launched toll free numbers on July 20, total 289 complaints have been received so far.
