TV actress Reem Sheikh ready to play Pakistani activist and Nobel winner Malala Yousafzai in a biopic “Gul Makai“. It also stars the late Om Puri, Divya Dutta (who will be seen in the role of Malala’s mother) and Ragini Khanna.
Reem is a well-known child artist, who started her career at the age of 6 on 2009. And won best new talent award on 2010 for her lead role in ‘Devi’.
She has also done many daily soaps like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Diya Aur Baati, Khelti Hai Zindagi Ankh Micholi, Ashoka for respected channels like Star plus, zee and Colors TV. She was also seen in the Amitabh Bachchan-Farhan Akhtar-starrer Wazir.
The biopic is 50 per cent finished. Some parts of the movie will shoot in Malala in Kashmir and some parts already covered in Bhuj and Mumbai in 2016.
The film is produced by Vijay Jaju, Shakti Bhatnagar, Sanjay Singla and Manoj Kumar and directed by Amjad Khan. The film’s screenplay and dialogue are done by Bhaswati Chakrabarty.
This movie will chronicle the journey of Malala in Swat Valley to being the youngest Noble Peace Prize winner who stood up against terrorism.
